I told her if a guy just sweeps you outside and did not have to give regards to your parents, he will not respect you. Rigid yes but that's how i was brought up. A guy likes you, you have him come to your folks to ask for permission to see you.
I was talking at her then she yelled at me like she suddenly snapped.
"Enough with your standards! you wanna know why I don't introduce you?"
Yeah please enlighten me.
She hands me a mirror.
"If i see one more time another boy I like saying my mom is hot with matching dropped jaws, I'll scream to death."
---------
My daughter is 19 and only had three boyfriends. I think I've done enough damage and no she's not not hot. She just likes home and yes, she loves me. despite all the room trashings and what nots. I know she loves me. Someone is sure to cry when I croak.
after 9th grade graduation of my daughter,
I took this shot of myself on the mall with my cellphone internalizing on the fact that
"Tomorrow I'm a mom of a high school student."
and it shook my soul more than anything.
I know I know I should be taking new pics of myself what with the new Cam shutter remote. I was just looking for something and found this. I have new ones but they are boring, not postworthy.
it was a moment and I believe it that, more than what we had or how grand or not everything are, our lives are defined by moments...when you were actually there for it.
'got a lot of those.
Hope you don't mind me leaving a comment but when I read the caption I thought of my own child and had to read on. ~Smile~ My daughter is going to be 14 come July and has been asked out a number of times since 6th grade! What the freakin #*#* is that all about! I will not let her date until age 16 and then only in groups and she is not upset about this thank goodness. I remember my days of dating at that age and I frown on those memories. I'm already worried! Lol So anyway.... pretty pic of you dear and yes take some recent ones because your daughter will cherish them when your no longer with her, take my word for it...my mother is gone and I never thought Id be without her so soon in my life.
ReplyDeleteWell,I think that soon she find herself more attractive and gets to love herself a bit more and the things get approve.Just give her a time and have trust in her choice on guys.
ReplyDeletehuggies for you both and do not forget the furkids
So it sounds like it's not a respect issue, but an insecurity issue. Give it (and her time).
ReplyDeleteAnd you are always gorgeous. But I really love your "moments"....
awwww bless her heart
ReplyDeleteAll mommies are most welcome. I'll get back to you. We have a lot to talk about. I went through hades and seems like practically every mom with a daughter did so. I hope yours is milder . Mine was a tall roaring blaze of hormones.
ReplyDeleteshe's good. thanks sweetie.
ReplyDeleteyup she's not yet made
ReplyDeletestill some rough edges to grind.
Thanks/ as I do yours ( moments)
I'm there, my lady. I trust her. it's just neighbors tell me they saw the guy all important family friends has seen and I'm the only one who hasn't spotted them.
ReplyDeletehugs*
she is fine with wonderful quality, hot means sexy , young boys like hot because of the sex part, but they do not married hot, not really. must hot girls are not lucky in love. tell her she is lucky she will find real love
ReplyDeleteouch.
ReplyDeleteI found real love many but my daughter manages to wreck it everytime we got close to closing the deal.
aw she will for sure.
Hmmm..what's going on here, Moda? I can read what you've written, but I'm hearing a lot more background noise.
ReplyDeleteHowz thangz, dearie?
Don't die...I'd mess up my mascara...and I would dig you up about that shy-yat!
lol
ReplyDeleteI'll try to get out of the croaking feeling. 'wouldn't want you to mess your mascara.
you hear them huh?
lot'S of crying today and more to come before it gets better.
I'mma need a lot of good vibes, sistah/
not-not hot means hot btw
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm not-not hot, too! lolol
ReplyDeleteyou're oozing lol
ReplyDeleteAin't that the truth!
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 positives to this issue:
1. You don't steal her boyfriends away.
2. By introducing her boyfriends to you, she can discover the one who will be loyal to her and truly love her righteously
3. She still has the ability to look hot in the future. My mother stayed looking young and attracted younger guys for a long time. Her daughters did not especially appreciate this either. Hearing too many times that people think you are sisters with your mother can become worn out eventually, but it's a great thing if you find out later in life that the genes got passed down your way!
Blessings & Love
I wouldn't want to go through all those insecurities ever, ever again.
ReplyDeletePositive thoughts going to you and your daughter. {{{hus}}}
I'm trying my best to make her see she has enough good things going on.
ReplyDeleteThanks and hugs*
@3 positives to this issue analogy.
ReplyDeleteahh this is why I carry you in me heartee/
Blessings and Love right back atcha/

ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you do look great. :)
would it help to know that some fathers and sons argue over who's tool is who's and then ultimately have to lock their toolboxes to end all the fighting? yeup, see it all the time.
ReplyDelete!!! i still can't forget loaning a power tool to my dad and he let someone else borrow it and when i got it back it was all wrecked and trashed so i had to throw it away. grrr 20 years and i'm still mad about it!
hmmm well ok that couldn't be half as bad as having somebody iron your monitor ;-)
CEST LA VIE ! bwahahahaha

ReplyDeletewhat about my DVD collection thta if she wasn't here wouldn7t be missing. My eyeliner my creams my scissors my pens my socks which are now a ibg mountain of unpaired problem????
